You’re about to discover a powerful morning ritual that is habit forming.
5 Questions to Help You Be At Your Best!
Begin each day with these five simple questions to align your intentions and actions so you can be at your best more often than not. Follow through on the intentions you set and pay attention to how much influence you have over the way you experience each day!
1. "What am I grateful for today?"
What it does:
Gratitude transforms your mindset by shifting your focus to the positive, boosting your mood, and lowering stress and anxiety.
Take a moment to reflect and jot down a few highlights:
Who brings joy to your life?
What experiences do you appreciate?
What makes your life more enjoyable?
This practice will make your feel happier than you can imagine.
2. "How am I feeling?"
What it does:
Expands your self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
Your emotional state significantly influences how you interact with others and experience life. And given that we mostly communicate on autopilot, it’s good to know how your emotional state is shaping your perspective and what you say and do.
Feeling good, hopeful, and excited? Fabulous! Go spread those positive emotions around!
Feeling stressed, worried, or overwhelmed? Good to know! You’ll want to be extra intentional about what you say and do today, so your current emotional state doesn’t make matters worse and add to your stress.
The more clarity and self-awareness you can bring to each day––the better your day will be.
3. "How will I renew my energy today?"
What it does:
Reminds you to take care of yourself and invest in your well-being––every day!
Your well-being impacts everything––how you feel, communicate, perform…the list goes on and on. Promise yourself that you’ll do something (or many things) to renew your energy.
Schedule micro-breaks to refresh and recharge throughout the day. These small, revitalizing pauses will boost your energy and productivity!
Plan time for deeper energy renewal. Just 20 minutes of movement can work wonders for releasing accumulated stress.
Make sleep a priority. When we’re tired, we have less self-control, less concentration, and less creativity.
Bonus: Keeping the promises you make to yourself expands your confidence and uplifts mood, so you have an even better day.
4. "How will I communicate today?"
What it does:
Your intentions shape you behavior, program your subconscious mind, and improve your odds of being the person you want to be.
Take a minute and choose how you will communicate today, so you can be at your best.
Listen more, speak less.
Be patient, no interrupting.
Show appreciation.
Take a breath, manage emotions, and calmly respond.
Approach conversations with an open mind.
Keep it simple and remind yourself to elevate the way you communicate throughout the day.
5. "What is my top priority today?"
What it does:
Brings clarity and focus to your priorities for the day.
Look at your to-do list and ask yourself these questions:
If I can only accomplish one thing today, what should it be?
What will you feel relieved or happy to have completed?
What’s the first step you can take to get things rolling?
Once you’ve identified what really has to happen, get to work on it first thing. There’s power in starting and it may take you a few deep-thinking work sessions to get it done.
Plan brief breaks to refresh your energy every 90-minutes. You’ll be far more productive, creative, and insightful if you take a minute to stretch your legs and move your body.
So, that’s it––5 simple questions that have the power to help you set the tone for how you experience each day.
Give it a try. See for yourself just how easy it can be to create a healthy mindset and communicate at your best when you set yourself up for success before the day unfolds. Commit to this reflective practice for 30 days and you’ll be hooked.
Here’s to more intentional communication and having a better day, every day!
Happily,
Maryanne
